Who must register

Corporate Tax applies to your business

Most UAE businesses - including free-zone companies - must register for Corporate Tax with the Federal Tax Authority, even where a 0% rate or Small Business Relief may apply. Late registration carries FTA penalties, so registering on time matters. We confirm your obligations and file for you.

Small Business Relief

Small Business Relief — pay 0% Corporate Tax if you qualify

Small Business Relief (SBR) lets an eligible UAE resident business elect to be treated as having no taxable income for a tax period — so it pays 0% Corporate Tax. It is not automatic: you must elect it in your Corporate Tax return on EmaraTax, every qualifying year, and you still have to register and file.

AED 3M
Revenue cap — must hold for this period and every period since 1 June 2023
0%
Corporate Tax payable for the period once SBR is correctly elected
31 Dec 2029
Extended by Ministerial Decision No. 131 — SBR now applies to tax periods ending on or before this date

Who can elect SBR

  • UAE Resident Taxable Persons only
  • Revenue of AED 3 million or less in the tax period and in every previous period since June 2023 — exceed it once and SBR is lost for good
  • Not a Qualifying Free Zone Person claiming the 0% free-zone rate
  • Not part of a large multinational group (Pillar Two)

Miss the election and standard Corporate Tax applies — a costly, avoidable mistake. We confirm your eligibility and make the election correctly on your return.
